My Pet Dog

Toby

I'm very fond of animals. People keep various kinds of animals as pets. Some people keep birds, others keep cats. Many people keep dogs as pets. I too have a pet dog. Even since I was little I liked dogs. Dogs are one of the most loyal animals.  A dog is known as man’s best friend because of the way dogs are loyal and friendly to their masters. For the families that have dogs, they are not just pet animals, but a true member of their family. 

My pet is Toby. He will be 6 years old by this 5th of September. He is about 2 feet tall and he has a golden brown coat. His breed is terrier. He was really cute when he was a puppy and he was always in my arms those days. He's still as cute as those days. 


Now, he is really playful and a brave dog. He's not afraid of any dog in our area. But those dogs are afraid of him. He can run very fast. Even with a vehicle. Not only that he can understand many sinhala words that we usually say. He's loved by everyone in our area because he's friendly with anyone. He's the cure for my loneliness. When I come from somewhere, he waits for me from the door. We know each other very well, and also we are delighted to see each other.

Everyone in my family loves Toby. And I am the one who bathes him. I usually bath Toby about twice a week. It's so much fun. Not only that, our mother feeds our dog on time. And my mother treats our dog like her own child. She calls him "Son".

To me, my pet dog is the best dog in the whole world. He will be the best dog I have ever had. I love my dog very much.
