An Eye Catching Place 

In Colombo


The Independence Arcade is a shopping complex in Colombo. It has been created to fulfill a unique requirement. That is to create "one space" where entertainment, shopping, leisure and dining can all be offered to please the requirements of an entire family. 

This place is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful shopping malls in Sri Lanka. This beautiful colonial building is full of beautiful shops and has the best tea lounge I have ever experienced.

I have visited here several times with my boyfriend and friends and it can be said that it is a place with an attractive environment to relieve our fatigue. This is a great photo spot and is located in the middle of Colombo. Its actually a nice place to hang around. 


The buildings are surrounded by green lawns, tall trees and flawless paved floors scattered with some very cool furniture. The central spot has got fountains and even a fish-tank that we can look at while walking on top of it.


I often go to the Arcade. Because everything is there and it is a very convenient place fulfill all our needs. There are many places to take photos in the Arcade, so my friends and I take a lot of photos when we go there. And when we go there, we won't forget to eat. On the ground floor, there are several places to eat there such as Burger king, food court, juice bar and etc. As well as I can say that, it's a good place to relax our mind because it has a quiet environment. In addition we go to some textile shops inside the arcade. But all items available for purchase are quite expensive. And lots of branded stuff are there. 

This is a great place to spend time with my family, boyfriend and friends, and to dine. Overall nice place to relax and enjoy in the heart of Colombo.
