My Leisure Time Activities

Leisure is the time when a man is free from routine work and can do whatever he like best. In a word, it is a temporary relief from the monotonous routine task of our daily life. People like to spend their leisure in their own way. 

Different people have different hobbies in their leisure time. Having a hobby is an essential thing for human life. Because, today all the people lead a hectic life. They have very little time to spend with their family. Therefore, they feel very lonely. Hobbies are very helpful to relax our mind and decrease our stress.

I have many useful activities to do in my leisure time, such as playing musical instruments, shopping, listening to music, reading books, gardening, watching television and etc. 

Among them playing musical instruments is my most favorite hobby.

First I started playing the organ when I was ten years old and still really enjoy it. it’s a perfect way to relax and cheers me up when I’m feeling down. And one of my favorite instruments to play is the organ. I always play the organ while singing with my sister. When I hear songs over radio I like to try them on the organ. My mother says that I have an ear for music. So I can play any tune when I hear it once. 

Another instrument I love to play is the tabla. I play tabla in my leisure time sometimes. When my father sings, he tells me to play the tabla. It's so much fun. I think playing a musical instrument is a great hobby to have. I love to play organ and  tabla whenever I'm free. 


Reading is a really good thing to do in our leisure time. It has not been long since I started reading books. But it has become my hobby now. I read short stories, magazines and novels. They too give me good entertainment and pleasure. Reading books also helps in my studies. I can improve my knowledge by reading. 

Now I usually read newspapers. Specially English newspapers. Because I want to improve my English knowledge. I can know a lot of things by reading news papers. I know the current affairs of the world and my country, political news, sports news, business news and technological news through the news papers. These all help me to  develop my knowledge. I love reading very much.

In last, I spend a lot of my free time shopping. Shopping is something I can do all day every day. For instance, I can spend up to three to five hours in one shop. I like shopping with my family the most. However, in my opinion this is a waste of money and time. But we need to know how to manage it properly. 


This is how I spend my leisure time every day. It is very important to do some kind of leisure time activity to relax our mind and our body.
