CHOIR

St. Joseph Church Choir - Kerawalapitiya

Singing is an essential part of worshiping God. Speaking of which, the choir is indispensable part of it.

"Choir"... what does it means? It's a group of people who sing together, for examples in church or public performances. 

A mixed choir is normally composed of women and men. There are so many types of choirs. Such as Bach Choir, Symphonic Choir, Gospel Choir, Vocal Jazz Choir. But to me church choir is the most important type. Because I'm a humble member of a St. Joseph Church choir. 

There are three choirs in our church. Those are Kids choir, St. Joseph choir and St. Cecilia choir. And I'm the organist of St. Joseph Choir. It's a youth choir. As I remember it has about twenty members. To me it's not just a choir, it's a big family. We talk, we laugh, we eat together and we practice hard when we gathered. I always love to practice with them.

I was a member of this choir since I was fifteen. The time that has past since then with this family is like a beautiful journey for me. I love this choir and I'll work with them as long as I can.

Finally I have to say, being a part of a great choir like this is a great honor to me.
